Steve Wildasin and his team at Bergey's Subaru go above and beyond in supporting our mission at Make-A-Wish. This year, their efforts resulted in a gift of $22,860 being presented to be used locally in the Hanover, PA and York/Adams Counties. Our mission at Make-A-Wish is: "Together, we create life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses." Because of Bergey's Subaru's efforts, 4 more children (from Hanover, East Berlin, New Oxford and Glenville, PA) will receive a wish. Thank you for bringing smiles to our childrens' faces!
Bergey's Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Karen D
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Hanover, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Bergey's Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Bergey's Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/14/2025, Bergey's Subaru donated 120 coats to New Hope Ministries Hanover Center. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Through the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, Bergey's Subaru is providing comfort, hope, and confidence to children in urgent need. Imagine having to go without a coat when you need it the most. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country and even here in Hanover, this can be a harsh reality. Helping others is the key to a strong community, which is why Bergey's Subaru believes in helping to support individuals and families in urgent need. In partnership with Operation Warm, this season, Bergey's Subaru is visiting New Hope Ministries to provide children in urgent need with brand-new coats. This essential item not only helps keep children protected but also warm and dry. Bergeys has for the 2nd staight year, donated 120 coats to New Hope Ministries to be distributed throughtout Hanover! Thank you for your continued support.
Subaru Retailers Team Up to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts - Jess M
At Bergey's Subaru, we’re always ready to step up and support our communities, especially in times of crisis. This commitment is at the heart of the Subaru Love Promise®. When Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated the Eastern region, Subaru retailers like us immediately sprang into action. Alongside other Subaru retailers, Subaru of America, and local organizations, we assessed the most urgent needs in the affected areas. It quickly became clear that local food banks were struggling to keep up with the surge in demand as they worked to support people hit hardest by the storms. In response, we teamed up with 67 Subaru retailers across the region to launch a $400,000 match campaign to aid the hurricane relief efforts of Feeding America®. Bergey's Subaru proudly contributed $25000 to this initiative. While the immediate impact of the storms fades from the headlines, many of our neighbors continue to face long-term challenges like food insecurity, water shortages, power outages, and limited access to essential services. Thanks to the collective generosity of Subaru retailers and the communities we serve, an additional $18,427 was raised. This brings the total impact to $418,427, or over 4,100,000 meals for those in need. "As one of the nation's largest disaster relief organizations, the Feeding America network of food banks and partner agencies is deeply rooted in communities across the country. Together, our partnership with trusted Subaru dealers has helped expedite emergency food assistance and supplies to people who need it most. We are immensely grateful," said Feeding America Chief Development Officer Casey Marsh.

Bergeys Subaru was very pleased to be able to make a contribution to Roots for boots.The goal of Roots for Boots is to meet the current needs and future challenges of military families, predominantly in rural areas. This grassroots organization attempts to simplify the process of locating services and funds available to our servicemen and women by providing a single source for information and/or assistance regarding their specific needs and interests.
Adams County SPCA Event - Abby A
Through the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, Bergey's Subaru is committed to improving the lives of shelter animals, including the senior and disabled dogs that are often overlooked, whom we lovingly call the 'Underdogs. This past October, for #SubaruLovesPets, Bergey's Subaru provided direct funding through grants administered by the ASPCA to Adams County SPCA to help cover costs for preparing animals for adoption, veterinary expenses, and more. In addition, on October 22, Subaru celebrated the 6th annual National Make A Dog's Day by inviting people to do something extra-special for all the dogs in their lives. We would like to thank Adams County SPCA for their continuing care and support of our local animals and look forward to working with them in the future!

Bergey's Subaru believes that all students deserve an equal opportunity for a quality education. That’s why we are partnering with AdoptAClassroom.org to make a difference in the lives of students at Hanover Middle School in Hanover this year. Millions of students in high-needs schools across the country, including right here in our local community, lack the supplies and learning materials necessary to be successful in the classroom. In fact, 92% of teachers in the United States have students whose families cannot afford school supplies, often requiring teachers to purchase resources using their own money. Bergey's Subaru is supporting schools in our community through Subaru Loves Learning by adopting classrooms at Hanover Middle School and providing its teachers with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are most needed to help their students thrive in the classroom. This is our 2nd year partnering with Hanover School District and we are very hopeful that this donation can help with supplies this year!
Lymphoma Blankets - AMANDA R
Bergey's Subaru is partnering with LLS and our local hospital for the 2nd straight to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope written by Bergey's Subaru employees and our customers to support patients facing cancer. Bergey's Subaru loves to care and we show it by providing warmth, love, and support to cancer patients and their families in our community. To help us assist blood cancer patients, several team members delivered blankets to the Hillman Cancer center in July. Thank you to for everyones help!

I would like to thank Bergeys Subaru for their donation to the Hanover Chili Cookoff. The Hanover Chili Cook Off has grown into one of the most significant fundraising events supporting the Hanover community. The past donated proceeds from this event went to help support Guthrie Memorial Library, Hanover Area Fire & Rescue, Exchange Club of Hanover, Friends of Codorus State Park, Boy Scout Troop #107, VFW Post #2506, Veterans Matter, Young Marines, Black Rose Rollers, SJC All Star, Hanover Area Council of Churches, New Hope Ministries Hanover Center and many others! Our goal has always been and always will be to keep it local! And with the help of the generous donation from Bergeys Subaru, we will be able to continue the tradition.
Make-A-Wish Greater PA & WV-York Regional office-Hometown Charity in 2023 Is Grateful - Ann W
We are so very grateful to the team at Bergey's Subaru on Carlisle Road in Hanover, PA. Steve Wildasin and his team really worked hard to raise an amazing $27,370 during the Share the Love campaign in November 2023 to January 2, 2024. We appreciate that Bergey's Subaru chose Make-A-Wish Greater PA & WV-York Regional office as their Hometown Charity. once again in 2023. This generous donation will help us to fulfill at least 5 more children's wishes. Our mission here at Make-A-Wish is "Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses." Bergey's Subaru embodies the word "Together" in our mission-they set a high standard in the local community as a resource and support to non-profits and set an example of how to partner with organizations in the community, such as Make-A-Wish, and help us make dreams come true. 5 more wishes of children from the local Hanover area and Adams County will be funded by Bergey's Subaru. These wishes will be for children ages 2 1/2 up through age 17. Wishes tend to fall into five categories: I wish to go somewhere (such as Disney World or the Grand Canyon), I wish to have something (such as a puppy dog or a shopping spree), I wish to meet someone (such as a celebrity or You Tuber), I wish to be something (such as a marine biologist or model for the day) and I wish to give back (such as toys for the local pediatric hospital or new wrestling mats at their high school). Make-A-Wish does not receive any government dollars, so these local hometown gifts mean the world to us and help us to create the magic for children who are just trying to be a kid while facing a critical illness that changes and challenges their world.
